Sandpoint/Sagle Area Weekly Radio Net:
Weds nights @ 7:00 PM
"AMRRON Channel 3 Project"
Emergency Communications Radio Practice
(This radio net will include AMRRON's "Net Word of the Week" which we will pass down to the local Sagle area local level.)
This is a weekly 15-minute radio check-in for those in the Sagle area and beyond already in possession of a 2M HAM radio, FRS, CB or the $22 Baofeng dual band radio (we can get you one and program it for you!)
We will check-in on MURS 3 (Multi-use Radio Service 151.940mhz). Simply listen in and call out your code name or nickname (make one up or get one from AMRRON here when you join for free.
So... have your radio on and see if you can hear us or each other, and join the 15-minute long AMRRON Radio Net. Note that you may have to relay someone else's check-in if you can hear them but we at Net Control can't. See the AMRRON Channel 3 project video here.
This will enable us to practice our comms, and create our network so that it is intact in a disaster or SHTF scenario.
Please join us and... Get Your Comms up!
************************************************
If you really want to get up and going on your comms please join us at our Prepper Class and we'll devote one of our upcoming classes just to comms. It's for those interested in setting up and getting your emergency radio communications intact and ready!
We will learn about 2-way communications within your budget! We’ll discuss scanning/monitoring for critical information out there when there’s no cell phone or Internet service.
This meeting/class should get us all started with basic information to monitor emergency services, and the ability to implement an effective radio comm plan within and beyond your group. And what’s up with that $16 Baofeng UV-5R transceiver on Amazon?
You can get your comms up and running for as little as that! Also: Scanners, Transceivers, Antennas, HF, VHF, UHF, Frequencies, FRS, GMRS, MURS.
Some of us have taken our HAM radio amateur license test. We share our experience and equipment that is up and running but we are mostly here to help each other.
We will also discuss smartphone-based apps for neighbor to neighbor assistance for fire, burglary, medical emergencies - before the SHTF scenarios unfold. This can build neighbor relations in preparation for a more catastrophic event when we will need those relationships working.
